America’s Team?

I wanted my first true blog to be about something that means alot to me, something i could write about with passion. Wellll, why the hell is the Dallas Cowboys considered, and oftern refferred to, “America’s Team”?

I have a problem with this, and its not because i am a Redskins fan. I do not want my Country to be associated with an organization that continues to have the most arrogant, obnoxious, egotistical, dramafied, drug dealing, woman abusing, strip club fighting, drunk driving athletes. ( Leon Lett, Michael Irvin, Pacman Jones, Terrell Ownes, Nate Newton, Terry Glenn, to name a few )

I am aware that almost every team in the National Football Leauge has had players with these same issues, but those franchises arent labled “America’s Team”. Just because a NFL Films employee referred to the Dallas Cowboys team of 1978 as “America’s Team” doesnt mean they truely are. I feel there are so many other organizations in the NFL that could embody that nickname and hold it to a higher standard than Jerry Jones’ organization.

 New England Patriots could serve as well, with their name being the Patriots, and their super bowl win a few months after 9/11. The Steelers could be too! The Pittsburgh franchise was given the name Steelers because of the working man, found in factories and helping build this country in the late 1800′s and early 1900′s.

I will end on this note…by default, the Washington Redskins could take on this name, mainly because they are located in our nation’s capital. Yea, thats biased…but its my blog so i dont care!!! Either way, Dallas doesn’t deserve the “America’s Team” label, and it chaps my ass everytime i hear it used.

Social Network Gets Me Every Damn Time!!

I have officially joined the blogging network. I might as well right? I’ve wasted many hours of my life on myspace, twitter, and facebook…so what the hell!? Ima blog.

My inspiration to blog came from my cousin’s wife, J. I enjoyed reading about their family and I thought it was kinda cool that J can just sit down and write about anything and post about anything. I pretty much do that now on facebook, but i still like the idea. So thank you J, for allowing me to possibly, and more than likely, get addicted to this blogging nonsense.

I do want to warn those of you who read my blogs. I don’t have the best language and grammar at times, thanks AOL, AIM, MYSPACE, TWITTER, and of course my right hand man…FACEBOOK, so bare with me! I’m just going to write out whatever comes to my mind, how I want to, and when I want to.
